Summer Scholarship Process:
  • Students with need are urged to apply early, before the Summer Scholarship Application closes on December 15.
  • Need based award amounts will vary, based on each student's individual FAFSA report. Some awards may cover as much as 100% of the program cost, though most applicants will receive less than that.
  • Students choosing to withdraw their Off-Campus Study Application for a Rhodes Summer Program* must do so BY JANUARY15. Following January 15, Rhodes′ "Program Fees and Billing" Policy, and Rhodes′ "Cancellation and Refund" Policy will apply. Follow this link to review our Policies.
  • Any scholarship offered is contingent upon acceptance to, and participation, in a program from the Recognized Program/Providers List. *WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CASES IN BELGIUM MAYMESTER.

  • Applicants must have at least a 2.75 GPA, unless otherwise specified.
  • Applicants must have a current FAFSA on file in the Financial Aid Office at the time of application.
  • Preference is given to rising juniors.
  • For semester- or year-long programs, students may apply for both the Buckman Fellowship and Need-Based award, though applicants should be aware that, if awarded, it will be one type of award only. It is possible that applicants may not be granted either type of award. Applicants should budget carefully and plan to have an affordable backup program.
What you need to complete your application:

Current Financial Awards: This document can be found on Banner Web and must be uploaded to your Need-Based Study Abroad Scholarship application.

Proof Of Application:  This can be an acceptance letter, confirmation email, or any type of proof that you can upload to your application to show that you have either applied to and/or been accepted to your study abroad program. This document must come from your program. If you have applied to a Rhodes Summer Program, your Off-Campus Study Application is the only proof we need and we can find that ourselves in the system.

Scholarship Budget: Tell us how much your program's tuition, housing, and meals cost. (Some programs may bundle these costs into one figure - that's fine. Just give us the total.)
