Trip Protection & Optional Cancel for Any Reason
Please carefully read this information about important insurance coverage for your travel plans.
We encourage you to enroll in the Academic Explorer Adventurer Plan, below. This insurance policy is an individual plan which you may purchase on your own. It is intended to offer some financial protection if you must cancel your trip for a covered reason, if your trip is interrupted or your travel delayed, as well as for lost or delayed baggage while traveling. Also, you can add-on the optional Cancel for Any Reason Coverage to protect your financial investment if you’ve been accepted to a program and you later cancel your participation because you’ve had a change in plans. We recommend you purchase BOTH the Academic Explorer Adventurer Plan and the optional Cancel for Any Reason add-on.
There are several other insurance providers who offer Trip Cancellation and Cancel for Any Reason insurance policies. Academic Explorer Adventurer Plan
"Who Is Eligible For Coverage: A person who is booked to travel on a Trip and pays the required premium is covered under this policy. Eligibility for purchase of this policy will be determined at the time of claim. If it is determined that a person or Trip is not eligible for coverage, any claim for benefits will be denied and your premium for this policy will be refunded. Coverage is only available for persons under the age of 91. Coverage is only available for persons who are residents of the United States of America." Cancellation for Any Reason add-on coverage:
"Conditions For Eligibility: Plan must be purchased within 15 days of the date the insured's initial trip payment is received. Cancellation must be no later than 2 days prior to the scheduled departure date of the trip." There is more information about this policy in the documents below. Please keep reading.
