Program Description:

   Study Abroad in ITALY

 Summer in Rome

   About the Program

Spend your summer in the Mediterranean sun! You'll quickly make this historic Italian capital your own as you explore markets and museums and get to know with today's influencers in various circles. Courses are designed to prepare you for your future role in local and global networks.

Choose one 3 U.S. semester credit hour class from one or both of our shorter summer sessions—or stay for the full summer to complete an IFSA internship with the support of Essential Italian language learning for a total of 7 U.S. semester credits.

IFSA-taught courses explore contemporary hot topics in the Roman, Italian, and European arenas with a focused inquiry into what the city’s storied past can teach us about influencing our shared future. Not all courses may be offered in a given summer depending on enrollment.

About Rome

Rome, Italy’s capital, is a cosmopolitan city with nearly 3,000 years of globally influential art, architecture and culture.

Program Benefits
  • Build your curriculum with IFSA-taught courses – take either the first or second session, or spend a longer summer term abroad
  • Cool off with delicious gelato in the shade of magnificent monuments and breathtaking basilicas on your walk home from classes
  • Talk openly with Rome’s influencers in diverse fields and learn about the forces that influenced their passions and careers
  • Jump start your career journey with an internship at an Italian or international company or non-profit organization

IFSA scholarships are primarily need-based and factor in any additional cost your study abroad program might have over home school tuition. The awards are $500 for summer programs, $1,500 for semester programs and $2,500 for full year programs. These scholarships may apply to any IFSA program, with the exception of our custom programs.
