Spanish Summer Intensive Course in Ecuador

Program Description:
This an intensive four-week course in Ecuador, including classes five days a week with Ecuadorian professors and a Rhodes professor. On the weekends, we have excursions to the capital city of Quito, a national park, indigenous ruins, and a waterfall! After classes, we have bus tours, museum visits, cooking classes, dance classes, and movie night.
This course and its Spanish-immersion format dramatically advanced students’ proficiency. Cultural studies units, museum visits, and excursions are all integrated into the course’s central language-acquisition activities.
Program Fee:
$3525. Fee will include: room and board, domestic travel within Ecuador, laundry, classes, and excursions.
Pre-requisites:
For Spanish 209, Rhodes Spanish 102 or permission of director.
For Spanish 309, Rhodes Spanish 202 or permission of director.
GPA Minimum 3.25

Need-Based Scholarship Available:
- All students on Summer Programs will be considered for a need-based scholarship if they have completed a FAFSA and have at least a 2.75 GPA.
- Not all students will receive an award. Need based award amounts vary, based on each student's individual FAFSA information. Some awards may cover up to 100% of the program cost, though that is rare.
- Students choosing to withdraw their Off-Campus Study Application for a Rhodes Summer Program* must do so by February 14. Following February 14, Rhodes′ "Program Fees and Billing" Policy, and Rhodes′ "Cancellation and Refund" Policy will apply. Follow this link to review our Policies.
