Faculty: Propose an Off-Campus Program

Members of the Faculty

Faculty led programs are an integral part of the Rhodes College approach to international education. The Buckman Center assists with the often complicated task of organizing an off-campus experience.

Rhodes encourages both credit- and non-credit-bearing activities off-campus, as they contribute to the education of our students and help them to develop “a life-long passion for learning, a compassion for others, and the ability to translate academic study and personal concern into effective leadership and action in their communities and in the world.”

The Buckman Center’s role is to support, facilitate, and encourage faculty and staff in their effort to provide our students academically challenging, enlightening and transformative programs in all parts of the world. Faculty members use their expertise and the enthusiasm to create academic programs and we at the Buckman Center guide new programs through the process of approval. We also provide the tools to ensure that a new program is logistically well-organized, financially self-sustaining, and safe for all.
